Louisiana lawmaker discusses viral moment: 'There's no good to slavery'

If I recall correctly Louisiana didn't end slavery until 1972, go figure.

Judge Rules Andrew Brown Jr. Bodycam Videos Will Not Be Released, But Wi...

I am still left to wonder how many shots were fired by how many officers.  After all, it is a residential neighborhood and these are high-powered weapons so there's a chance of "collateral damage", a bullet did enter the kitchen of a nearby resident. Maybe the lawyers should walk the area to see if they can spot additional stray shots or have a ballistics expert do it.

Joy Reid On Police Killing Of Andrew Brown Jr.: ‘Show Us The Tape’ | The...

Now I have a good idea why the police don't want us to see the video, apparently, there were just too many shots fired, in a residential neighborhood, to be believed. Disregarding the lives of the many black residents who might have been killed as "collateral damage".

Bullet Purposed For Andrew Brown Jr Traveled Through Neighbor's House An...

If Andrew had been white the police would have simply given chase, stopped him, and caught him without further incident.  This terrible reaction to reach immediately for gunfire as a way of responding to a fleeing suspect only happens when the suspect is black.

DOJ Investigating Derek Chauvin's 2017 Brutal Assault of a Black Child!!!

I guess the "good cops" are a "silent" majority???
Yeah, right! We have a terrible problem that Putin and our other enemies are counting on being able to tear America down and burn it.  Unless we get control of the runaway white supremacists and their corrosive ideology we are not going to survive as a free country.  White Supremacy extremists will make America a totalitarian nation by eliminating any party of tolerance.  You can see it happening in the anti-protest legislation being offered around the states.

Attorneys Say Joining Chauvin Prosecution Was A ‘Moral Moment’ | The Las...

The judge's decision to not allow Chauvin's past knee attack before the jury was a two-edged sword that might have confused the issues at hand.  Although it was past bad conduct, it could also have been used by the defense to show that the "attack" was survivable by someone in good health, opening a whole new can of worms for the prosecution.  The defense request to not allow this was actually very telling, they were more afraid of the knee on the neck than they were about the survivability of it.  That, to me, telegraphs that even the defense attorney's felt the heat of guilt very strongly.

That's it, every whistle stop county and township/public agency can and does create "police forces" and hires people it gives the title of "peace officer".  This practice needs to stop, crimes are not being solved because of the crazy quilt training in the thousands of "police forces" across the country and the scant if any legal training about our Constitutional rights.  There are too many abuses of peace officer powers and too many failures to adequately train officers in the use of force, de-escalation, and Constitutional law.

It's time to require any appointing police authority to obtain certification by the Justice Department to ensure that they require adequate training in the Constitutional protections of citizen rights and the application of the applicable law. Naturally, it will take time for every police/peace officer agency to be issued the new certificates but the process needs to be started to get it done the sooner.
