George Zimmerman's father says he's 'disgusted' with Florida judicial system

Robert Zimmerman asks for more time, funds in letter posted online

The father of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman charged with shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, posted a letter online, saying he's "disgusted with Florida's judicial system."

According to the letter, dated May 16, signed "Robert Zimmerman" and posted on a website named RobertandGladys.com, the Zimmermans asked for more time to prepare for their son's trial and for more funds "to provide an effective defense."

"The state of Florida has unlimited resources in their totally unwarranted and malicious prosecution of George," Robert Zimmerman writes. "I continue to be amazed by what the state of Florida considers their ‘evidence’."

Robert Zimmerman then appears to attack the state's audio experts, whose findings were released last week and differed on their voice analysis to whether screams for help captured on 911 calls were those of George Zimmerman or Martin.

"It now appears the state has somehow found an ‘expert’ that hears words and sentences that only he can," Robert Zimmerman writes. "The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI experts, after exhaustive testing of the same recordings, were unable to hear any of these ‘mystery words.'" READ MORE
